Many people avoid public speaking with, "Oh I'm not gifted at that. I get stage fright." That’s like saying, “Oh, I tried skating once, but I’m no good at it. I fell down a lot.”
You need to give a talk, and your co-worker tells you, “It’s easy. Just imagine everybody naked.”
Really?! I can guarantee you that anyone who recommends this has certainly never tried to do it.
You’re giving a presentation, and you tell a funny story and hope the audience laughs at it. Should you laugh yourself to show them that it was a joke?
